Spoiler:
Zitat:"But the Hitman games have always been primarily about stealth and this is still where we put our focus and effort. If the player wants to play with disguise as a primary focus they would take down the first lone police officer and steal his outfit - but the library is packed with police, so it's not going to be easy."

Zitat:"The disguise allows the player to walk around in the open as long as he doesn't get too close to the NPCs in a similar outfit," explains Blystad. "They'll start to see through the disguise when you get too close. The player can use Instinct to blend in, but it has to be used sparingly."

Zitat:"If the player unsuccessfully tries to fool the AI the situation can be controlled by taking them down in a secluded area," non-lethally, of course. "If the whole scene falls apart SWAT police will arrive as reinforcements. A SWAT outfit will give better protection against bullets and is a better disguise as it has a face mask."

Zitat:"The cover system is built specifically for a smooth stealth experience." says Blystad. "If it's used in conjunction with Instinct it lets you navigate complex rooms like the library with a large number of NPCs.

Zitat:"There are agility paths for players looking for alternative routes. This adds some verticality to the levels and for the exploring player may lead to otherwise unavailable areas. There are also vents and air ducts that can reveal some unseen areas.

Zitat:"You can distract NPCs by taking out lights with a silent gun, using interactive objects like the fuse box in our E3 demo, or throwing found items, but they'll get smart if you do it too often. We've added a number of inventive 'body containers' to help cover your tracks, and it would be a good idea to collect the security tapes."

Zitat:"We've made Absolution the hardest Hitman game when it comes to purist, hardcore play style. We're planning some fiendishly hard challenges for them with rewards that'll match the effort. This is Hitman. Silent Assassin is still the most sought after rating you can get as a hardcore Hitman player, and the perfect playthrough is when nobody even knew you were there."

Aus einer Q&A-Session, allgemein zum Spiel:

Spoiler:
Will we have the freedom to finish each contarct the way we please (sniping, bomb, accident,) or will there be special methods in each mission for diversity?
That depends a little bit on the levels. Some levels are very open and free while others are a little more narrow in terms of what you can do – either because of size or location (e.g. using a sniper rifle inside a small building isn’t really all that effective). You will always have the choice of gameplay style ranging from silent assassin to madman to whatever fits you in-between.

Will the enemies know 47 is in there in most of the levels? In previous Hitman games the enemies (Requiem and some others being exceptions) didn't have a clue he was there... Until it was too late and 47 was far away. So can we just walk in the suit like any other person without cops shooting us in other levels than what was shown in the e3 demo? To me part of the charm has been just walking in the suit, scanning the area, at my own pace, before finding a disguise and getting the job done.
That depends on the level. The E3 demo showed a level where Hitman was on the run – it’s not going to be like that all the time, of course. There will be levels where you will go in and nobody will know you and you can go totally old-school Hitman on those.

Will there be missions large enough for using a sniper Rifle like previous Hitman installments?
I think it’s safe to say that the sniper rifle will be making a lovely comeback.

With no Map screen this time round how do we find our target, do you have find them and then visually verify them by the clothes they're wearing, they're accent, etc.

It depends a little bit from level to level but overall, yes, you need to be a little more hands-on this time around.

Will there be more maps than in Blood Money? It was so short game.
The game is pretty long. I’d say it’s about the average length of other Hitman games but since we’re not done with the game yet, it’s tough to estimate exactly. Replay also plays a large part in terms of how much time you spend with the game.

Eindrücke und Infos aus einer 2. Demo (in einem Waisenhaus, daher stammen auch die Scans):

Spoiler:
- Demo takes place in a orphanage and 47 (disguised as a priest) must save a young girl from being captured by the main villain Blake Dexter
- Developers are still very secretive about the plot
- Visual style of the enemies encountered is similiar to Kane & Lynch
- Bad guys have slaughtered everyone inside the orphanage (even the nuns)
- Stuff that has been seen from released gameplay material is still there like seeing enemies and their routes through walls (limited by 'focus' meter) etc.
- You can take out enemies silently, steal their clothing and shove the body into a closet
- When disguised you can walk past enemies without them noticing you but you must move fast or they realize who you really are
- There is a moment when 47 finds couple of enemies torturing a security guard for information. Player can choose either to help or ignore the guard. If player saves the guard he will give you some information abouth the rooms ahead.
- Hiding in plain sight means going to a pre-determined spot and 47 starts to interact with some object in this case with a pile of paper (like eating a donut in released gameplay). This seems to grant some kind of immunity to being spotted.
- Bodies of enemies can be hid in different places like thrash shaft of ball pit
- It seems that players can always choose between a stealhty or action approach
- Game doesnt punish from going everywhere with guns blazing and 47 is able to take down enemies using QTE melee
- Unlike in previous games enemies can return to neutral state from alerted if player kills all the enemies in the area
- 47 is able to use different objects to his advantage; fire axe can be used to take down enemy brutally and fast or toy robot can be turned on to distract enemies
- 'Focus' meter can be used to slow down time or even RDR style painting the targets and 47 one-shotting them when finished
- You still can't save in middle of a mission but there are few checkpoints in every map (the demo took place between two checkpoints)
- There is extreme difficulty which disables the HUD completely (can't see even ammo, health or QTE buttons) but player can still use 'focus'
- There is over 2000 pages of written dialogue in game and the enemy coversations heard in game change depending what enemies the player killed in the last mission, choices he/she made etc.
- Developers didn't answer questions like are players are able to frame the murders as accidents, use bombs or seek alternative routes because they're very precise about what they reveal and they mostly wanted to demonstrate gameplay mechanics with the demo

Stuff said by the developers:
- 47 was too weak in previous games and they wanted to him be the badass unstoppable killing machine that he should be
- Gameplay was too awkward in previous games (movement speed of 47 when crouching was slower than enemy walking speed which forced players to toggle between running and crouching to catch the enemies, it was difficult to succesfully take out enemies from behind etc.)
- Even though 47 is much stonger and capable, the game is still challenging because lots of enemies in the same area forces the player to use these powers intelligently
- No matter what we would do with the game there will always be some angry fans because they're so protective of the series. It is great to know that the franchise still has hardcore fans after all these years but we also need to think new players and try to make everyone happy. I know that it is hard to hear and that these previews have made some of the older fans angry but this is just the beginning. Just wait and you will see more in the future. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
- Hitman: Absolution is not a reboot but a next step in evolution
