The Superintendent made his/her first appearance on Bungie.net on 5/29/2008 at 5:44 PM PDT. Since then the Superintendent has been making regular posts. The Superintendent's post are normally brief, always in caps lock, and usually inform forum goers to, "KEEP IT CLEAN!" The being in question was most likely made by the Bungie staff because of its green text and status plus its own green theme for its member page, something no one else has been seen with.

Misspellings of "KEEP IT CLEAN"

Recently, the Superintendent has been posting different variations of the phrase, "KEEP IT CLEAN" by substituting letters with numbers such as, "K7EP IT CLEAN." He/she has done this on several past occasions in the past two days. Here is a list of the Superintendent's posts for reference. So far, if one is to put together all of the Superintendent's posts the phrase comes out to be, "071P 08 1LE0N." This may be interpreted as a code 071?081??0? (with the blanks to be filled in at a later date). Alternatively these numbers could be noted in the order they were posted, making the code 071180. Some believe the Superintendent is writing out a date and time. For example, 07/1?/08 1?:0? in the American date format. Others think it could be a telephone number to be rearranged, or the 0 could be replaced with an international dialing code.

Multiple "Superintendent's"

So far, there are six Superintendent's, and a seventh that may or may not be involved (he lacks Superintendent status and the special avatar, however was made at the same time as all the others) each of them has a different variation of the original Superintendent avatar. Each of their names are made up of multiple upper case I's and lower case L's, adding up to a seven character combination total.

When in a lobby while playing Halo 3 when your press the start button, in place where the banner for the "Cold Storage" map used to be is a seemingly decrypted banner with the Superintendent's logo in the top right corner which seems to be displaying a sad face. Also, this wallpaper was found.

EDIT: So es ist ja jetzt doch nichts daraus geworden. Die einzelheiten stehen ja in den News. Trotzdem wurde von microsoft bestätigt das Bungie an einem neuen Halo Spiel arbeitet, was wahrscheinlich dann heute angekündigt werden sollte (Links: News von hier, News von einer anderen Seite)
