The following is taken from various posts in Sk1ll4x3D's thread on CompoundIntelligence. As we've all agreed that spreading and sharing information is of paramount importantce, I just wanted to share this discovery with the people who are primarily using this forum and see if you guys concur with this rather exciting possibility.

As we all know, AdjutantReflex asked the question, "On whose golden wings will we fly from blackest Earth to brilliant heaven?" The correct answer to this question, as many of us correctly predicted, was "Iris."

Sk1ll4x3d and his girlfriend B4D Bunny found out that in 1847, scientists discovered an asteroid, the 7th discovery in a series of asteroid discoveries, and named it "7 Iris." 7 Iris was observed occulting a star on 7/25/1997.

As those of you who are familiar with Bungie lore know, the Marathon Colony ship was the hollowed-out moon Deimos, first discovered in 1877 and first photographed in 1977.

Now we have a definitive name associated with a real-life asteroid with 7s abounding -- the 7th asteroid discovered, in 1847, named "7 Iris," and observed occulting a star on the 25th day (5+2=7) of the 7th month of 1997.

Now AdjutantReflex asks us who will be ferrying us from "blackest Earth" to "brilliant heaven"?

On whose golden wings will we fly? Iris -- 7 IRIS. An asteroid, hollowed out to form a spaceship.
