infos zum klassensystem in horde:

Multiplayer Lead Designer Ryan Cleven:
"All the classes have about 11 skill cards. At the beginning you can choose one of them, and at the end of your character’s progression you’ll have picked any five. That means every time that you start up Horde you can pick 5 of these eleven cards, and you’re going to have to think about the best build for that session.

That means that as a team you’re also going to have to think about the overall team composition too. Which class is this person bringing, what cards are they picking? When you think of 10 maps, plus 5 classes each with their own 11 skill cards, plus all the places you can put fortifications... The combination of all the possibilities is huge."

Card packs can be earned by just playing, but players wanting a boost can also buy them with real money. The cards that determine things like class skills are permanent and never go away, but other cards that offer bonuses will be consumable in nature. When asked about what this means for balance, Cleven is pragmatic.

"They can get more cards by using real money to purchase the packs, but we don’t force anybody to do that. You can use in-game currency to buy the packs as well, but if you want you can get more cards by spending real money. That being said, you still have to level up the classes. You can’t buy your way to being the most powerful class – you still have to play the game to unlock the capabilities of each class."

man kann jede klasse individuell mit fähigkeiten nach wunsch ausstatten. so wie ich es verstanden habe können 5 tokens freigespielt oder mit echtgeld gekauft werden, die man für 11 verschiedene fähigkeiten pro klassen nutzen kann. scheinbar kann man nicht alle 11 fähigkeiten auf einmal nutzen und muss sowieso erst ein gewisses level erreichen um die tokens einsetzen zu können. sofern es sich ausschliesslich um zusätzliche fähigkeiten OHNE einschränkungen handelt klingts gar nicht mal schlecht.

allerdings wird man laut artikel, wie ich befürchtet habe, die fähigkeiten des kompletten teams benötigen. heisst also wenn die teamkollegen schon ins gras gebissen haben, wird man vermutlich nicht mehr weit kommen weil eben die benötigten fähigkeiten fehlen. ob es die möglichkeit geben wird dass 2 oder mehr spieler die selbe klasse spielen können wird jetzt aus dem artikel leider nicht ersichtlich, aber selbst wenn: bringt das dann überhaupt was?

The Juvies run really quickly and can jump off and over walls, which means it isn’t just about setting up the barriers and killing everything at the barriers – you’re going to have to be prepared to use a little bit of verticality. That leads into the new flying units we’ve got – those are very different units to what we’ve seen before in Gears of War. These are big, heavy flying units.

You’re going to have to manage the ground, you’re going to have to manage the air, and you’re going to be fighting both DeeBees and the Swarm at the same time. Each army has a slightly different character to it too... the DeeBees tend to be a little more marching and put a lot of constant pressure on you, while the Swarm have a lot more big units.

öhm ich bin eigentlich davon ausgegangen dass cog, swarm und deebees alle gegeneinander kämpfen...
