"Standbying and bridging is a harder problem to solve. There's no code we can put in the game that prevents someone from unplugging their network cable or playing tricks with their router. There are, however, things we've done to make those activities unprofitable in reasonably short order. The main thing is that the game just understands how good of a host you are. If you "accidentally" standby or drop players every game, you won't be hosting very often (or ever again, past a threshhold. What a waste of that nice 3mb DSL line, eh?)
And since we're an ironic bunch, at some point you may find yourself matching up against people with similar hosting "problems". Exclusively.
